I’m really excited about our show next week at The DL. For those of you who’ve read my post before, you may be thinking, what’s the cause for excitement. I could tell you I’m excited about our fabulous line up (Dottie Dynamo & Valora Dee will be performing burlesque). I could tell you I’m excited about Christopher Bousquet and his crazy circus hula hooping skills. I could tell you that my excitement stems from the reality that Tawdry Owl will be shimmying as our Go Go gal. I could also tell you that I’m most excited about female Impersonator and singing sensation Kylie Amaya returning to our stage as cohost. While I’m excited about all of these things , the thing that’s most exciting for me is that I get to spend a Tuesday night in a place I love, with people I love, while eating Truffle Fries! That’s right. The fries at The DL are insanely good and what better way to honor the combination of fries and glittery burlesque ladies than with a little P-Funk.

After 4 years of One Night Stands in a variety of New York spaces and lust filled places (Rififi, Fontanta’s, Fat Baby, Sapphire Lounge, Drom), we figured it was high time we took a moment to say, “thank you”.

Audience Tips for winning:

The Art of Beer Chugging

The last The Luvely Rae’s One Night Stand left us with a beer chugging contest that involved more set backs then the New York Knicks. Audience Participation has long been one of the celebrated features of this lower east side burlesque show, and since we want everyone to feel like a winner, we’re offering a few Beer chugging tips to help our audience members out.

Tip #1: Do not be distracted be the scantily clad half naked beauty standing before you. She’s there to help you in your time of need and assuming it’s the time when you need a beer, we’ll she’s really useful at moment.

Tip#2: Like a drunken One Night Stand with someone you really shouldn’t be smooching, just close your eyes and do it! Thinking about it will only delay your ability to swallow and well, you can fill in the rest.

Tip #3: Commit to it! If you were chosen to participate, then commit to completing to task. Humming and hawing over it will only futher delay your ability to swallow (see tip #2)
